Job Description

Kuno is a premium brand and agency that delivers high-quality marketing and sales services to clients. Clients expect this high standard in everything we do, which includes, but is not limited to, copywriting, proofing, editing, visual critiques, and recommendations on improving the quality of any and all client deliverables. Kuno is also a technology company that uses many digital platforms related to website design, marketing automation, and advertising. Clients expect the same high level of quality within these platforms that goes beyond basic copy proofing. Clients expect consistency in formatting, styles, links, tags, images, alt images, header tags, meta information, and messaging. One of the primary responsibilities of the Digital Content Editor role at Kuno is to ensure we deliver “agency” quality work to our clients.

General Responsibilities

  • Editing content – All content (for Kuno and Clients) – Copyedit and provide macro editing recommendations for website pages, proposals, guides, videos, social media calendars, emails, SEO meta information, ad copy and presentation decks (PPTX).
  • Editing, inputting and optimizing blog articles – Blog posts are often supplied in word processing documents such as Google Docs and need to be entered according to client calendars. Copy will need to be proofed and edited. Sometimes images (from our stock image library) will need to be found, cropped, optimized (for size) and added. Some articles will need SEO (search engine optimization) with the keywords, links (internal and external), and alt tags. Most articles will need call-to-action (CTA) references/links added to direct to landing pages (usually within the HubSpot software).
  • Write website copy, emails, digital ads, etc. for Kuno clients based on best practices for SEO and according to advertising guidelines. We typically have several website redesign projects each quarter. Our brand journalist will conduct interviews to help you better understand the personas we are targeting and the key messages we want to communicate. You will be responsible for writing engaging website copy based on that research.
  • Write 2 or more blog posts per month for Kuno creative.

Requirements

Job-Specific Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in marketing and/or communications writing
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, conversational, grammatically correct documents
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • This is a remote position and requires the ability to work from home using online meeting software such as Zoom, GoToMeeting or WebEx.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or HubSpot is a plus but not required
  • An understanding of SEO best practices is preferred and a part of this job; however, we will provide training in this area if you don’t have previous experience
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English using verbal and written skills.

Education & Training

Kuno uses HubSpot CRM software for most clients. Previous experience with HubSpot is required. You will be given access to the HubSpot Academy online courses for ongoing training and education. During the first six months of employment, you will be asked to complete several video courses that provide certifications for a variety of topics that will help you have the most success in this position. Most courses are composed of a few hours of watching videos followed by a short exam of around 50 multiple-choice questions. The certifications need to be renewed annually.

Compensation

  • Based on industry knowledge, geography (cost of living), and work experience in comparison to other candidates at the same job level
  • The base salary range for this position is $50,000 – $60,000
