REMOTE Project Budget Analyst Opportunity!

Project Budget Analyst or Senior Project Budget Analyst based on credentials is responsible for project budget development and tracking, including spend analysis and forecasting. Experience with managing technology project budgets is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets by monitoring costs and conducting budget-to-actual-to-forecast variance analysis; update forecasts as necessary
  • Prepares estimates to completion (ETC) and spending plans, and supports programs with financial analytics.
  • audits contractor invoices, and provides briefings and related documentation and reports for financial assessments
  • Provide regularly scheduled financial reporting with key financial performance indicators
  • Monitors and reports financial performance against plans to ensure that contractual objectives are met.
  • Collaborates with executives, product owners, and project managers to develop a budget. informed of potential financial issues/risks and proactively work on resolving potential problems before they became a significant issue/risk
  • Organizes budget templates and data in a clear and intuitive manner.
  • Review contracts for financial completeness and accuracy and monitors payment terms to contractual deliverables of projects
  • attends meetings related to project costs and provide recommendations on how to maximize project budgets and minimize risk
  • Evaluate all contracts to identify important financial terms and interpret contractual requirements and payment schedules
  • Ensure vendor invoices are reviewed by Product Owners to confirm work completed, process contractors’ invoices and monitor payment status
  • Assist project managers/other team members with providing proactive financial review/analysis and documentation for project review meetings, attends project review meetings and other project meetings as needed.
  • Meets with project managers regularly to review spend analysis and works with project managers to update cost projections to properly reflect current project status.

Required Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • 3+ years of project budget accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience in working with program budgets
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be well organized and possess excellent teamwork skills
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Ability to process large quantities of information to evaluate costs, benefits, and project outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
