Employer: Kalepa

Job Type: Full Time

Location:

About Kalepa:

Insurance is a $7T global industry built on professional labor: underwriting, claims, pricing, operations, and distribution. Kalepa is building AI that can perform that work.

We create professional-grade AI systems for insurers: software that can read, reason, decide, and act inside real workflows and operate over long-time horizons. Kalepa begins by augmenting professionals with the tools to succeed at their jobs. That earns us the right to learn from real decisions, capture decision traces, and automate what can be automated successfully over time.

Our products are already in production with leading insurers, driving measurable outcomes and expanding across functions. The opportunity is far broader than any single workflow: to build the AI operating system for decision-making across insurance. For people who want to work on AI that matters, in a sector where correctness, trust, and real-world impact count, Kalepa is just getting started.

Kalepa is backed by leading investors such as IA Ventures and Inspired Capital, and our team brings experience from Facebook, Palantir, Google, Amazon, McKinsey, Mastercard, and Uber.

Our Values (This is important):

Many organizations have a dusty list of corporate values that no one ever follows. Kalepa is not one of those companies. Our values are designed to unlock the potential of our employees.

Success at Kalepa is bred from five core principles:

Hustle and Determination – We hire people who take full ownership of their craft and relentlessly pursue excellence with speed and determination. We choose the hard problems and do not give up. This is the foundation of how we work and how we win.

Deliver Customer Impact – We’re obsessed with customer impact. Every feature, every line of code, every decision is measured against one question: does this help insurers make better decisions? If it doesn’t drive speed, accuracy, or profitability for our customers, we don’t build it.

Meritocracy – We’re building something exceptional, and that requires exceptional people and ideas. We have a high bar but we reward excellence with rapid growth. If you’re the best at what you do, you’ll thrive here.

Transparency – We value honest, transparent communication over politics. We challenge ideas, not people. We say what needs to be said, even when it’s hard. This is how we solve problems fast and find the truth.

Experiment Relentlessly – Many of the problems we face have never been solved before. We tackle them by testing quickly, measuring rigorously, and iterating until we find the path forward. Speed of learning is our advantage.

In addition to our NY office, we have remote employees speaking 10+ languages across the globe. But we invest in bringing our people together both for regional meetups and global offsites (2021 – Playa Del Carmen | 2022 – Rome | 2023 – Buenos Aires | 2024 – Lisbon | 2025 – Cartagena).

Kalepa’s culture isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok. But for the people who are a fit, they can’t imagine working elsewhere.

About the role:

Salary range: $80k $165k USD*

We are looking for smart engineers who love to code, seek challenging problems and appreciate recognition for excellent work. As part of the Core UX team, you will focus on refining existing product functionality to deliver an exceptional user experience. Your work will center on ensuring consistency across the product, maintaining a cohesive look and feel, and implementing performance improvements that directly impact end users. You’ll be paying close attention to the layout, interactions, responsiveness, and visual polish, that collectively give the product a premium, well-crafted feel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys iterative improvement, cares deeply about quality, and wants to shape the everyday experience of our users.

You’ll collaborate with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable backend solutions as we continue to grow. We’re a small team where individual contributions have an outsized impact on both our technology and our business.

You’ll be right at home if you:

Have 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with a track record of improving and polishing functionalities to bring premium user experience.

Embody hustle and grit, you’re excellent at your craft and relentless in pursuing it.

Take full ownership of your work and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.

Communicate proactively, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, keeping stakeholders in the loop.

Thrive on experimentation: you’re comfortable testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly on problems no one has solved before.

Have strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.

You have experience in a modern FE framework, preferably React.

Know Javascript, Typescript, or Python, though we’re open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds.

Have experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.

Are comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.

Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI, distributed systems.

What you’ll get:

Competitive salary (based on experience level)*.

Significant equity options package.

Work with an ambitious, smart, global, and fun team to transform a $1T global industry.

20 days of PTO a year.

Global team offsites.

Phone reimbursement. Gym reimbursment.

Student stipend.

*The salary range listed is an estimate and will vary based on a variety of factors. Final compensation will be determined during the offer stage based on relevant experience, performance during the interview process, and geographic location, and may therefore differ from the posted range.

Employer: MariaDB plc

Job Type: Full Time

Location:

MariaDB is making a big impact on the world. Whether you’re checking your bank account, buying a coffee, shopping online, making a phone call, listening to music, taking out a loan or ordering takeout MariaDB is the backbone of applications used everyday. Companies small and large, including 75% of the Fortune 500, run MariaDB, touching the lives of billions of people. With massive reach through Linux distributions, enterprise deployments and public clouds, MariaDB is uniquely positioned as the leading database for modern application development.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Analytics AI Platform Engineer with strong programming skills, a deep command of analytical methods, and the ability to turn complex data into clear business insights. You’ll join a small, highly skilled team where your work has a direct impact on how the business operates and makes decisions.

This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role. You’ll work across the full data stack-writing sophisticated SQL in BigQuery and MariaDB, building automation and tooling in Python, and leveraging AI-powered tools like Windsurf, Gemini, and Claude to work faster and smarter. You’ll be expected to understand how data is structured end-to-end, from source systems through to the warehouse, and to know which analytical approach fits which business question.

You’ll also be a key communicator-translating complex data into clear narratives for stakeholders across the organization. We need someone who can operate independently, manage their own priorities, and continuously raise the bar on what’s possible with our data. If you have a genuine passion for analytics, a GitHub full of projects, and you’re the kind of person who’s always learning the next thing-we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Apply the right analytical methods-statistical analysis, regression, clustering, forecasting, classification-to solve real business problems at scale

Design and build end-to-end analytical solutions-from data extraction in BigQuery and MariaDB to actionable insights and automated reporting

Develop and maintain data pipelines, analytical frameworks, and tooling using Python and SQL

Use AI-powered development tools (Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate experimentation, code generation, and analysis

Leverage the latest AI features and tools (LLMs, embeddings, generative AI) to augment and automate analytical workflows

Build lightweight applications and APIs (FastAPI) to put models and insights into the hands of stakeholders

Own the data architecture decisions within your domain-schema design, data modeling, and pipeline reliability

Communicate results, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business audiences

Map and improve business processes through data-driven analysis and process design

Requirements & Qualifications

7+ years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a quantitative field

Expert-level SQL – deep fluency in BigQuery and MariaDB or similar data platforms; you understand query optimization, partitioning, and data modeling

Strong Python and/or JavaScript skills – production-quality code, not just notebooks; experience with modern data and ML libraries

Deep understanding of analytical methods – regression, clustering, time series, A/B testing, classification; you know when to apply what and why

Solid understanding of data architecture – how warehouses, lakes, and pipelines are designed; how to structure data for both analytical and ML workloads

Proficiency with AI-powered development tools – Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, or similar; you leverage AI assistants as a core part of your workflow

Excellent communication skills – you present complex technical work in a way that drives decisions

Self-managing and self-sufficient – you set your own priorities, unblock yourself, and deliver without hand-holding

Relentlessly curious and ambitious – you’re always learning, always building, always improving

A public GitHub profile showcasing your projects, experiments, or contributions

Nice to Have

Experience with Next.js or modern frontend frameworks for building data-facing applications

FastAPI experience for serving models or internal tooling

Background in business process analysis or operational process design

Experience working across multiple business departments (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Engineering) – broad organizational exposure is a big plus

Experience with JSON-based data formats, APIs, and integration patterns

Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes – containerization and cluster orchestration experience is a big plus

Benefits & Culture

Globally distributed team environment

Remote or hybrid work options (location-dependent)

Challenging projects with company-wide impact

Competitive compensation, 25 days paid annual leave, plus holidays

A culture that values curiosity, clean engineering, and people who genuinely love what they do

Location Romania (remote)

Travel Flexible for adhoc travel

What’s in it for you?

Compensation

Salary Range: 160,000 – 200,000 RON per year (gross)
Please note: The starting salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience, in alignment with our gender-neutral compensation framework.

Employer: OpenX

Job Type: Full Time

Location:

Company at a Glance

OpenX is focused on unleashing the full economic potential of digital media companies. We do this by making digital advertising markets and technologies that are designed to deliver optimal value to publishers and advertisers on every ad served across all screens.

At OpenX, we have built a team that is uniquely experienced in designing and operating high-scale ad marketplaces, and we are constantly on the lookout for thoughtful, creative executors who are as fascinated as we are about finding new ways to apply a blend of market design, technical innovation, operational excellence, and empathetic partner service to the frontiers of digital advertising.

At OpenX Poland, we are looking for a talented, communicative, and curious Software Development Engineer IV in Test to join our team in Cracow, Poland.

You will join the Platform Team at OpenX, specifically focusing on the Marketplace, which is responsible for the maintenance and development of the UI and API components of our platform. Our exchange handles billions of ad requests every day, connecting thousands of publishers with demand partners across the global advertising ecosystem. The platform runs in the cloud across multiple regions and operates at a scale where performance, reliability, correctness, and every millisecond matter.

You will be part of a cross-functional platform engineering team focused on the Marketplace workflows that support how our core exchange operates. The components and tools help internal and external users manage marketplace settings, configure integrations for publishers and demand partners, review transaction setups, and ensure that platform behavior aligns with optimal liquidity and exchange performance.

In this senior SDET role, you will take strong ownership not only of test automation, but also of building new frameworks and maintaining existing ones for TypeScript-based frontend applications as well as for API testing. This role is ideal for someone who wants to go beyond just testing and work on creating and maintaining test frameworks and testing approaches used across the organization.

The primary stack for this role includes: TypeScript, Playwright, React-based applications, Java, Python, Pytest, Spinnaker (CI/CD). The broader engineering environment also includes Node.js, GraphQL, GCP, and Kubernetes.

You do not need to be an expert in every part of our stack, but you definitely need to be eager to grow in those directions and bring a can-do attitude.

Prior AdTech experience is helpful, but not required.

What we offer:

Employment contract (22 595 – 25 254 PLN gross/monthly) OR B2B (181 – 202 PLN net/hourly)

Working with the newest technologies such as Cloud Computing (GCP)

Challenges at work that are difficult to find anywhere else!

Solving important problems in a scale

Joining a company that is growing and scaling

Flexible working hours & remote work option

Key responsibilities

Own, build, and evolve UI (TypeScript/Playwright) and API (Java/Python) test automation frameworks used across the organization, designing and maintaining tests across both layers for complex Marketplace workflows and integrations.

Improve the reliability, speed, and maintainability of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Be involved in all phases of platform development, from requirements and architecture design to validation, deployment, and release readiness.

Partner with engineers and stakeholders across the organization to identify quality risks early, applying risk-based testing to make pragmatic coverage decisions across unit, integration, API, and end-to-end levels.

Investigate test failures, flaky tests, and production issues, driving root cause analysis with actionable improvements.

Communicate quality risks, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

Required qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in test automation or software engineering in test, including hands-on experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks, not just writing tests within them.

Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Playwright (or a comparable frontend framework such as Cypress).

Solid experience with API testing in Java and/or Python, ideally with pytest.

Practical knowledge of test design techniques and risk-based testing.

Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines, and improving automated test execution in CI environments.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, Spinnaker, or similar cloud and deployment technologies.

Participate in design sessions with your team members, coming up with the optimum technical solution that not only meets the business requirements, but does so with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind

Employer: Canonical

Job Type: Full Time

Location:

Ubuntu Linux, already the most popular Linux distribution in the world, is looking to increase its adoption even further by expanding the number of System On Chip (SoC) platforms supported natively and further optimising to ensure the highest performant experience for all users. There is a strong demand from silicon manufacturers such as NVIDIA, Xilinx, MediaTek, and Qualcomm to provide Ubuntu Linux to their customers and Canonical is looking to broaden its silicon enablement squads to meet this challenge. The Canonical Kernel Team – those responsible for the build, maintenance, and distribution of the Linux kernel for Ubuntu – are looking for individuals with a strong flair for software development at the hardware level and a passion for ensuring the most optimal performance the silicon can provide.

The successful candidate will be able to prove a strong aptitude for software engineering at the hardware level. While direct experience with the Linux kernel would be a substantial advantage, it is not a hard requirement for candidates with prior background in other RTOS’ or bare-metal environments as long as direct hardware experience can be demonstrated.

There are a number of work-from-home based roles available worldwide and we are looking for experience levels from early career candidates with a couple of years under their belt up through senior industry veterans.

What your day will look like

Collaborate regularly and proactively with a globally distributed team

Work closely with our silicon vendor partners to integrate their platform support into the Ubuntu Linux kernel for their product ranges

Diagnose and resolve issues in the kernel reported by partners, customers, the community at large, and discovered by your own rigorous testing

Take responsibility for the delivery of distinct silicon-optimised variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel to the world

Improve tooling and automation for the delivery and test of Ubuntu Linux kernels

Submit, review, and apply kernel patches, working with both internal and external upstream maintainers

Identify new means of maximising performance on partner silicon

What we are looking for in you

Well-organised and motivated self-starter able to thrive in a remote work environment

Professional manner with colleagues, business partners, and the open-source community

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Significant programming ability in C

Strong grasp of device drivers, BSP’s, and other aspects of hardware-level system engineering

Solid background with git

Understanding of operating system kernel fundamentals

Ability to travel twice a year for company events of up to two weeks length

Additional skills that you might also bring

Python and Bash scripting ability

Prior background with the major SoC families

Ubuntu/Debian/Snap packaging

Demonstrated experience with Linux kernel patching and debugging

Solid understanding of performance optimisation for silicon platforms

What we offer you

We consider geographical location, experience, and performance in shaping compensation worldwide. We revisit compensation annually to ensure we recognise outstanding performance. In addition to base pay, we offer a performance-driven annual bonus. We provide all team members with additional benefits, which reflect our values and ideals. We balance our programs to meet local needs and ensure fairness globally.

Home-based work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person

Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year

We’re enabling high-performing, rock-solid MongoDB deployments on any cloud or platform our customers choose.
Canonical is looking for an experienced Python developer with a background in MongoDB who will help us to build a fully managed MongoDB solution based on Juju. We’re aiming to build the most reliable and secure way to deploy and operate MongoDB on machines, VMs, public cloud and Kubernetes. The MongoDB team is small, meaning you will be a key contributor and your work will have a significant impact on the product and the broader ecosystem.

Who you are

You love technology and working with brilliant people.

You are an accomplished senior Python programmer that enjoys challenging projects in mission-critical environments.

You have experience operating and managing MongoDB clusters.

You are experienced with modern infrastructure deployment automations or with traditional Linux systems administration, operations, and package management.

You are passionate about quality and automatic testing.

Work with one of the industry’s pioneers in open source with intelligent engineers at every level from engineer to CTO and CEO level. At Canonical we’ve honed our remote-first culture since 2004, established in the company from the very beginning. Enjoy a competitive salary, the flexibility to work and live where you wish, and the chance to work exclusively on impactful open source projects.

Canonical is proud to foster a workplace free from discrimination. We truly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better platform for our users and customers. This is something we value deeply and we encourage everyone to come be a part of the world of Ubuntu.

Location:

Years from now, history will look back at this moment as a landmark for the human race, the moment generative AI began to change everything. At Loka, we’re not just watching it happen, we’re building it. Our teams have helped develop novel drugs for fighting cancer, and our ML crew is doing similarly high-stakes work across life sciences, from cutting-edge BioLM models to agentic applications for genetic research companies.

Loka is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team. In this position you’ll serve as the primary specialist in designing and implementing machine learning solutions across multiple projects. Your expertise in GenAI, ML and DL will empower us to develop robust, scalable systems and improve them over time. Ultimately we expect you to not just fit in with our ML crew but to elevate it to new heights.

About Loka

Loka is a globally distributed tech consultancy based in Silicon Valley. In 2024, we were recognized by AWS as Innovation Partner of the Year, beating out 150,000 partners for the title.

We count more than 100 certified specialists, technical experts and PhDs among our teammates, committed Lokals who bring their brilliance both to client work and to mentoring junior colleagues. We work entirely remotely, test new ideas in our in-house incubator LokaLabs, observe local holidays and take every other Friday off (really).

An overview of this role

As a Senior Software Engineer on GitLab’s Authorization team, you will own significant parts of the system that decides what every user, token, and automated agent can access on GitLab.com, Self-Managed, and Dedicated.

Today that work is Ruby on Rails. Roughly 400 policy classes and a YAML catalog of about 1,900 permissions sit behind every API request. You will work on the permission model itself (fine-grained token permissions, custom roles, and the GraphQL and REST surfaces that enforce them). You will also help move that model onto GitLab’s next-generation authorization stack, which pairs the Rails monolith with a Rust policy engine using Zanzibar-style relationship tuples and Cedar policies. The monolith already loads that engine in-process and can reach it over gRPC.

Some examples of our projects:

Refactoring GitLab’s policy layer so the same permission definitions can be evaluated by the monolith and by our new authorization service

Extending fine-grained token permissions to more resources and more kinds of principal, including the service identities behind AI agents

What you’ll do

Design and ship authorization changes in GitLab’s Ruby on Rails monolith, where a single request can trigger hundreds of permission checks.

Own a workstream end to end. Problem definition through feature-flagged rollout, dual-run verification, and cleanup.

Build and extend fine-grained permissions for tokens and roles, and keep the permission catalog coherent as it grows.

Extend and harden authorization enforcement across GraphQL and the REST API.

Refactor long-lived policy code so both the monolith and our new authorization engine can evaluate it, without changing behavior for existing customers.

Improve the reliability, performance, and security posture of existing authorization systems, including paying down permission-model debt.

Partner with the authentication, platform, AI, and modular-service teams on interface contracts as authorization moves toward a shared service.

Drive technical decisions in writing. Design docs, architecture decision records, and code review, in a fully asynchronous organization.

What you’ll bring

Significant experience building and operating production Ruby on Rails applications.

Experience designing or implementing authorization systems, including role-based access control and fine-grained permissions.

A security mindset. You treat a permission bug as a security bug, and you reason about blast radius before elegance.

Comfort making careful changes to large, long-lived codebases. Incremental refactors, feature-flagged rollouts, and migrations that must not change behavior for existing users.

Working knowledge of GraphQL and API authorization patterns.

Attention to performance at scale. You understand why one uncached check matters when it runs hundreds of times per request.

Preferred: hands-on PostgreSQL experience.

Strong written communication. You are effective when most decisions happen in a document or a merge request rather than a meeting.

Helpful but not required: Rust, gRPC or Protocol Buffers, Cedar or other policy languages, Zanzibar-style authorization systems, Go, or service-oriented architecture. Several engineers on this team picked up Rust for this work and we will support you doing the same.

We welcome transferable experience from adjacent domains such as identity, policy engines, and platform security.

About the team

The Authorization team owns the capabilities that determine what users, tokens, and automated agents can access across GitLab. Our work runs on two tracks. We are strengthening the permission model inside the Ruby on Rails monolith (fine-grained token permissions, custom roles, and the policy layer that enforces them), and we are moving that model onto a shared authorization platform built for GitLab’s modular and cell-based future.

We work closely with the teams building GitLab’s authentication layer, its Rust authorization engine, and the first modular services adopting it. The team is small, distributed across time zones, works in the open, and makes its decisions in writing.
