Country Manager South Africa (iGaming)
We are looking for a Country Manager to lead the local operations of a licensed iGaming brand in South Africa.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands gambling operations, can manage a local team, work with regulators and partners, and take responsibility for the day-to-day operations and development of the business in the country.
Being based in Cape Town is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the iGaming business in South Africa.
Lead the local team, including structure, processes, performance, and development.
Work directly with the local gambling regulator and coordinate regulatory matters with Legal/Compliance.
Oversee compliance with local licence requirements and operational compliance processes.
Coordinate with the group's central functions, including Marketing, Acquisition, Product, Finance, Compliance, Support, and other teams.
Contribute to the development of local acquisition channels, partnerships, and other sources of player acquisition.
Monitor key business and operational KPIs for the local brand.
Identify operational issues and independently drive the necessary changes.
Monitor the local market, competitors, and opportunities for business development.
Requirements
Hands-on experience in Gambling/iGaming operations.
Experience managing teams and operational processes.
Understanding of the key processes of a B2C gambling operator, including acquisition, player lifecycle, payments, support, KYC/Compliance, and Responsible Gambling.
Commercial mindset and ability to work with business and operational KPIs.
Ability to make independent decisions and coordinate multiple functions.
Strong understanding of the local market or the ability to quickly develop it.
Being based in Cape Town is mandatory.
Strong advantages:
experience in the South African gambling market;
experience working with a locally licensed gambling operator;
hands-on experience dealing directly with a gambling regulator;
experience managing local/on-the-ground staff;
understanding of local acquisition, Affiliates, and other traffic acquisition channels.
Who We Are Not Looking For
A manager without practical Gambling/iGaming experience.
A specialist with exclusively narrow functional experience Marketing, Compliance, Finance, or Sales without broader operational management experience.
A manager who is comfortable coordinating processes but is unwilling to personally solve operational problems.
Someone unwilling to work directly with the local team, partners, and regulatory processes.
A candidate who is not based in Cape Town and is not prepared to work there on a permanent basis.
