We are looking for a Ruby developer. You’ll spend most of your time turning tickets into a well-engineered, fully implemented feature in our monolith (and occasionally updating or creating microservices).

We are looking for a Ruby developer. You’ll spend most of your time turning tickets into a well-engineered, fully implemented feature in our monolith (and occasionally updating or creating microservices).

In addition, you’ll be doing a lot of empathetic, clear, and frequent communication, reducing technical debt, increasing test coverage, sharing your experience with the team, and growing from others’ experiences. During that process, we expect that you will take the initiative to leave the code better than you found it.

Developers on our teamwork under the direction of our 4-squad” — CTO, Scrum Facilitator, Product Manager, and Tech Lead — and often pair with another developer, one of the 4-squad, or our QA. Collaboration is a strong part of our engineering culture, so strong interpersonal and technical communication is essential, as is a willingness to find a middle-ground between engineering excellence and business needs. We look for a commitment to solving problems together, sophisticated design thinking, an interest in building quality products, and creating business value.

Responsibilities
– Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
– Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
– Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
– Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Skills
– Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
– Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
– Understanding of functional programming style in Ruby
– Skills for writing reusable Ruby libraries that may be used in expressive ways
– Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
– Experience with Rails web application framework
– Familiarity with command-suite libraries
– Knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
– Experience with both external and embedded databases
– Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
– Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
– Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
– Proficient understanding of code versioning tools- Familiarity with development aiding tools
– Familiarity with continuous integration
– Commitment to Agile Values and Best Practices
