Agentic Tools Architect

We are looking for a talented, experienced, and highly hands-on Agentic Tools Architect to design and modernize business-critical operational platforms and transform them into AI-native, agent-operable systems.

This role combines deep expertise in business systems and operational processes with hands-on engineering, architecture, and agentic AI implementation. The ideal candidate has strong Ruby on Rails experience, understands platforms such as Odoo, Redmine, and GitHub, and has practical experience building AI-agent workflows, integrations, APIs, and automation in production environments.

What You'll Do:
Own the architecture and feature roadmap for operational platforms, from business-process discovery through design, planning, and implementation.
Design cross-system workflows and integrations that connect business operations, delivery, support, finance, and engineering processes into a coherent operational platform.
Design secure, agent-operable interfaces using APIs, MCP servers, webhooks, and automation that allow AI agents to safely read, create, route, and resolve operational work.
Lead the modernization of legacy business systems, including version upgrades, replacement of manual workflows, and migration away from fragile customizations.
Architect and develop Redmine plugins and Rails-based extensions, Odoo modules, and GitHub Apps/Actions.
Build upgrade-safe customizations using clean interfaces, contract-first APIs, testing, and well-defined migration strategies.
Establish standards for access control, data integrity, observability, testing, and human-in-the-loop controls for AI agents operating in business-critical systems.
Review architectural and implementation changes, including AI-generated code and agent-authored configurations.
Availability to work until 2 pm – 3pm US EST.

What We're Looking For:
10+ years of experience in software engineering, business-systems architecture, platform engineering, or a related field.
Expert-level Ruby on Rails experience, ideally including production development or maintenance of Redmine plugins or comparable Rails-based extensions.
Strong understanding of business processes across operations, delivery, support, finance, and engineering.
Practical experience with agentic AI development, including MCP, LLM tooling, AI-assisted automation, or agent-orchestrated workflows in production.
Strong experience designing and building plugins, modules, integrations, and extensions that remain maintainable and upgrade-safe across product versions.
Strong API and integration design skills, with an understanding of how human workflows, AI agents, and underlying business systems should interact.
Strong focus on clean, tested, production-grade engineering and reliable systems.
Experience working with operational platforms such as Odoo, Redmine, GitHub, ERP, ITSM, DevOps, or comparable business-critical systems.

Nice to Have:
Python and Odoo module development experience.
Strong PostgreSQL knowledge.
Experience modernizing or migrating legacy systems across major product versions.
Experience in SaaS, scale-up, or PE-backed environments.
Experience working with remote and globally distributed teams.
Comfortable operating in high-ownership, ambiguous environments where you are expected to design solutions rather than simply implement predefined requirements.

This is a hands-on architecture and engineering role for someone who can bridge business operations, enterprise tooling, software engineering, and agentic AI to build the infrastructure required for AI-driven operations at scale.
