Summary

This role responsibility shall focus mainly on systems/electrical engineering competence at high seniority level. As an engineer a successful candidate is expected to work autonomously and occasionally provide technical leadership for a team of other designers/developers. Will participates in the development of the next generation of biometric devices. Responsible for new design and redesign of electronics for biometric products. Performs or leads complex activities relating to the design, testing, and evaluation of complete devices or systems. Performs product development activities including development of systems requiring supervision of engineers, contractors, or vendors to implement product specifications and requirements. Ensures product features achieve cost, schedule, quality and budgetary goals. Directs support personnel in all electrical development activities.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead electronics design from concepts through prototypes to series production. Focus on capacitive sensors for fingerprint scanning and optical systems (lighting & image capture) for fingerprint, face or iris recognition
• Capture schematics and layout PCB (hands-on or through working with other colleagues)
• Carry out worst case analysis and calculations
• Make yourself excited about the initial bring-up, debug and test, lead design update sessions, implement DFM/DFT requirements
• Liaise on technical subjects with the Customer and other teams (mechanics, thermals, software, manufacturing)
• Present results and achievements
• Cooperate on development and optimization of processes and best practices
• Mentor younger colleagues, lead intra-company technical trainings

Qualifications

• Master degree in Electrical engineering or related fields
• Certification in par.5 or higher of decree 50/1978 (electrical qualification)
• Past experience in similar position

Education and/or Experience          

• 10+ years professional experience in electronics design
• Strong design experience in fields of digital, analog and mixed signal, high speed signaling and communications
• Development with focus on reliability, manufacturability and EMC
• Experience with the whole electronics design lifecycle from concept to production
• Working experience with E-CAD, preferably Altium Designer
• Previous experience with design to requirements
• Prototype bring-up and test, hands-on debug of complex systems
• Understanding of embedded software
• Analytical thinking

Advantageous skills and experience

• Design for manufacturing and design for test
• Experience with electro-optical systems and chip-scale level integration
• Oversight to mechanics, firmware or optical engineering
• PCB layout experience and knowledge relevant technological requirements/constraints
• Knowledge of standards and usual normative requirements in industrial and consumer electronics

Language Skills                   

• Strong communication skills, competent in English written and spoken
